Today was my first day as a Visiting Research Scientist at Sakana AI in Tokyo. I’ll be spending the next year working on AI for science, specifically on building tools to help human scientists through generative and agentic AI. Sakana has already done great work in this space with ShinkaEvolve and The AI Scientist, so I’m thrilled to be joining. I’ll miss Toulouse, ISAE-Supaero, and the excellent students there, but I’m excited for what’s ahead in Tokyo.
